Kaycee Colburn – May Featured Artist

Kaycee Colburn is an eclectic visual artist who creates both traditional Seneca and Modern contemporary pieces. Her work is deeply rooted in her cultural heritage, and she is dedicated to addressing systemic racism through her art. She loves to use her art pieces to tell stories and messages for the less heard voices. The exhibit at Lakewood Memorial Library will feature a ribbon skirt, Native Hashtags collection, the Crying Woman and pieces from Jamestown's first Six Nations flag raising which was lead by Kaycee at City Hall.

Kaycee will be giving an artist talk on Wednesday, May 14th at 5pm, to highlight the significance of representation in our society and explore how important education, and inspiration, can foster a shared understanding.

Attend her closing reception for her show in our art gallery on Thursday, May 29th at 5:30pm.

Kaycee is the owner of KayCo art gallery where she puts on self exhibitions to ensure these messages always have a place to be seen and heard.
Kayco is currently viewed by appointment only.
