For the month of February, Lakewood Memorial Library is happy to welcome local photographer, Robert Gibbon to our gallery walls. After taking a long break from showing his work, Robert is excited with the idea of dusting off the boxes and visiting with his old friends, the photos, again. He'll be displaying a wide range of subject material, covering all types of adventures in intimate detail, with subjects as familiar as the oak trees of Lakewood or the barns of Ashville, as well as photographs capturing the international wonders of Australia.
Please join us in welcoming Robert and his wonderful photographs at his opening reception on Thursday, February 13th at 5pm.
"I thank the Lakewood Memorial Library for the opportunity to “return to earth” after about 15 years in “I-phone outer space.”
The latter is good for many things, but “real camera” digital photos and Photoshop seem to provide me with tools to present scenes with more of the desired perceptual, emotional, and even artistic “wham” that I like.
[Apologies to dark room experts, who take it all to an even higher level.]
I’m having fun and hope you will, too.
